GMA unveils trailer for apocalyptic drama The Cure
In
keeping with its brand of cutting-edge dramas and stories that push the
boundaries of the imagination, GMA unveiled the trailer of its much awaited
apocalyptic thriller, The Cure last March 26. The series explores
an uncharted theme in Philippine television as it brings together melodrama,
medical and science fiction in one exciting program.

The
series tells the story of a once-happy family devastated by a strange disease,
to which the cure is still unknown.
Greg
works as a research assistant in a pharmaceutical company. He is happily
married to Charity and lives with their daughter Hope and his mother Agnes. Everything
is going well in their life until Agnes is diagnosed with terminal Stage 4
Pancreatic cancer. Out of desperation, Greg steals an experimental drug made by
Dr. Evangeline Lazaro in the company he works in.
However,
what was supposed to be the miracle cure for cancer, becomes the root of an
infection that endangers not only Greg and his family, but also threatens to
spread all over the city. Joined by Dr. Lazaro and her son, Joshua, Greg and
Charity now has to find the cure before it overcomes the one they love most –
Hope.
Since
the trailer’s launch, the video has earned over 200,000 views in less than 24
hours on Facebook. The hashtag “#TheCureFullTrailer” also quickly rose among
the top trending topics on Twitter.
The
Cure is the
first on-screen pairing of Philippine’s Ultimate Star, Jennylyn Mercado
and one of the most bankable leading men of his generation, Tom Rodriguez.
It also features 2016 Cannes Film Festival Best Actress Jaclyn Jose in a
very important role.
The
Cure is set to
premiere on GMA primetime this coming April.
